I’ve spent over 15 years building and leading software systems — from large-scale distributed services and graph data platforms to core banking systems, payment integrations, and internal developer tools. My work has spanned research environments, financial services, and product companies, with a consistent focus on reliability, clear design, and practical problem-solving.

I currently work as a software engineer at Capital One. Previously I was at the Center for Translational Data Science (University of Chicago), where I built tools and services supporting genomic research pipelines, and earlier held engineering leadership roles in Nigeria.

On the side I maintain a small collection of open-source tools. Recent ones include:

• pyprojectr — typed modeling and parsing of pyproject.toml
• setuptools-scmx — customized release workflows on top of setuptools-scm

This site is where I write about the systems I build, the trade-offs I encounter, and the gaps that still need better tools.
